STAR CITY WALKTHROUGH Mark Sachs (ksleet@rcn.com, http://project-apollo.net) - IFComp 2006 GLOSS SHIP - Wait in the Gloss Ship until it docks with the artifact. - Close the helmet. - Go east to the airlock. AIRLOCK - Wait for the airlock to cycle, and go east to Landing Platform. LANDING PLATFORM - Examine the floor. Follow it (or just go in any direction away from the ship) to find the railing. Follow the railing to find the control box. Examine it to find a button. Push the button to turn on the lights. - Go east to West Lobby. WEST LOBBY - Go up to Solar Furnace Control. SOLAR FURNACE CONTROL - Push the switch to open up the furnace. Wait for the mirror array to unfold. - Examine the tower to find the piece of metal. - Aim the mirror array at the piece of metal to melt it away and allow the tower to extend. - Aim the mirror array at the tower to restore full power. - Go east to get back to West Lobby. WEST LOBBY - Push the call button. - Wait for the monorail car to arrive. Enter the car. Go east in the car. HAB CYLINDER - Continue going east until you reach East Lobby. EAST LOBBY - Get out of the monorail car. - Go north to enter the elevator. ELEVATOR - Push the down button. ELEVATOR SHAFT - Take off the torn spacesuit. - Go west to the city area. CITY - Walk around the city until you hear a voice. Then, listen. - Walk towards the voice until you arrive at the building it's coming from. - Enter the building. Go up three stories. Enter apartment 406. APARTMENT 406 - Wait for the film to stop. - Take the reel of film. - Go back out of the apartment. CITY - Go down to the ground floor and go outside. - Walk towards the plume of smoke until you reach it and find the crashed monorail car. - Climb the monorail track up to the airlock. LANDING PLATFORM - Let go of the railing in order to reach Platform 6. PLATFORM 6 - Open the M-48's hatch. Go inside. COCKPIT - Close the hatch. Sit down. Fasten the seat belt. - After the M-48 is ejected from Star City, push the jet ignition button. - When the aircraft stalls, start pushing the joystick forward. Continue pushing it forward until you recover from the stall. - Pull the joystick back. Keep pulling it back until you have pitched the aircraft up around thirty to forty degrees in order to bleed off your excess speed. - Once your speed has decreased somewhat, level out the roll of the aircraft as well by pushing the stick left or right as needed. - To prepare for landing, ensure the aircraft is tilted between 0 and 20 degrees up, has 0 degrees roll, and is moving at less than 150 knots in speed. (Examining the instrument panel will tell you your current condition.) Once you have been in stable flight for three turns, you will skip to the final approach. - Once the aircraft has landed, take off your seat belt, stand up, open the hatch, and go outside to win the game.
